The Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk is a stylistic descendant of both the Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk model, which was first launched in 1940 and evolved into a divers’ watch in 1970, and the sporty, fondly remembered Girard-Perregaux Laureato collection. It has a distinctive, assymetric case with multiple levels. highlighted by a two-partbezel composed of a round interior and octagonal exterior. The dial — here, available in either silver or metallic blue — is also multi-layered and decorated with a honeycomb-like pattern that echoes the shape of Girard-Perregaux’s famous historical tourbillon bridges.
Inside the Chrono Hawk is Girard-Perregaux’s automatic Caliber GP03300, which powers the watch’s hours, minutes, date, small seconds andchronograph functions, and has a power reserve of at least 46 hours.
The new steel bracelet combines two types of links, the large central ones that run along the middle of the bracelet and the h-shaped links that surround them. The central links feature alternating polished and satin finishes on their outer bevels. The bracelet closes easily with a secure folding clasp and also has a micro-adjustment system the wearer can use to achieve his ideal wearing comfort. Those who may have already purchased a rubber-strap version of the Chrono Hawk should be pleased to learn that the bracelet is interchangeable with the rubber strap and can be purchased separately. The Girard-Perregaux Chrono Hawk Steel Bracelet will retail for $15,100.
